The Atlantic Festival: The End of Reading Is Here

Brooklyn Public Library welcomes The Atlantic and the Atlantic Festival, for an evening examining the American reading crisis.

Atlantic staff writer Rose Horowitch, Brooklyn Public Library president and CEO Linda Johnson, and the author Hilary Leichter will explore how to combat the loss of sustained attention and the importance of intellectual curiosity and a shared culture of reading. Then, the author Tayari Jones will discuss her acclaimed work and the power of literature to cultivate empathy and curiosity, challenge inherited narratives, and broaden our understanding of the American experience.
